Being established on the basis of Moscow State University in 1758, Medical faculty was transformed into The 1st Moscow Medical Institute, and after that, in 1990 - into Academy, and in 2010 got the status of university.
History of people salvation in Russia is tightly bound up with lives and destinies of Academy specialists: S.G.Zabelin, M.Ya.Mudrov, G.A.Zaharjin, N.V.Sklifosovsky, I.M. Cechenov, N.I.Pirogov, N.F.Filatov, N.A.Semashko.
