Dear international applicants and visitors of our site 
The I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy (MMA) is proud of its over 60 years experience in training international students. Among its graduates now – ministers and other high rank officials of national health systems, heads of medical councils, personal doctors of presidents and prime-ministers, heads of prestigious hospitals and clinics, professors of medical colleges etc. And – what is most important – all over the world our graduates honestly and ably carry out their professional duty.
This academic year over 2300 international students are engaged in the Academy’s under and post graduate courses. In 2010/11 academic year we’ll continue to admit international students for higher professional education in “General Medicine”, “Stomatology” (Dentistry) and “Pharmacy”. We also offer about 50 medical specialties for postgraduate studies.
All applicants are to sit for entry tests in Chemistry, Biology and Russian language. On our site we’ll be publishing sample tests in these subjects.
Academy’s faculty constantly polishes up and updates the education process to ensure the highest standards of our graduates. In recent years we are putting more efforts to invest in developing students’ practical skills and their summer clinical practice. To this end we introduce new programmes and elective courses.
Needless to say that for a future specialist studies is No 1 priority. But it is also evident that a young person can not and should not confine himself to lecture halls and laboratories. Academy provides its students with a variety of sports and recreation facilities. Swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton, athletics, martial arts, soccer and many others are available almost all year round. By the way, MMA’s stadium “Burevestnik” (Thunderbird) has the same Tartan turf as the Olympic Stadium in Luzhniki, which permits to arrange Academy’s football championship as late as in October-December. Beside sports our students have facilities for cultural entertainment; they attend clubs, theatres and cinemas, go for excursions in Moscow and other cities.
Productive studies and interesting life in any country are impossible without good command of the native language. That’s why my earnest advice – start to study Russian right now! You can do it at preparatory courses in Russia, at Russian Cultural Centres in your countries or in local universities. The Russian language will help you easily accommodate and mix with the local people, enrich you with great history and culture of the country where your young years be spent. Russian will be your strong aid in accumulating knowledge and experience from your professors and tutors, doctors and other specialists whom you’ll daily encounter during classes and clinical practice.
Academy will start to accept applications of international students to MMA in April-May, 2010. On our site we’ll publish updated rules for admission and tuition fees that, I think, will be a pleasant surprise for you.
