Dear international applicant,
We are glad to announce that I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy upgraded its status and now officially registered as I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (MSMU). It allows to expand the scope of its education and research activities beyond purely medical specialties.
New status and consequent structural changes will be gradually reflected on the website (Russian and English). It will take some time. So be not confused if on the same page you see both: Academy and University, MMA and MSMU, etc.
For over 60 years University is training international students from all parts of the world. Among its graduates – ministers and other high rank officials of national health systems, heads of medical councils, personal doctors of presidents and prime-ministers, heads of prestigious hospitals and clinics, professors of medical colleges etc. And – what is most important – all over the world our graduates honestly and ably carry out their professional duty.
About 2500 international students are getting now education at the MSMU. In 2010/11 academic year we continue to admit international students for higher professional education in “General Medicine”, “Stomatology” (Dentistry) and “Pharmacy”. We also offer about 50 medical specialties for postgraduate studies.
University’s highly qualified faculty constantly polishes up and updates the education process to ensure the highest standards of our graduates. In recent years we are putting more efforts to invest in developing students’ practical skills and their summer clinical practice. To this end we introduce new programmes and elective courses.
Needless to say that for a future specialist studies is No 1 priority. But it is also evident that a young person can not and should not confine himself to lecture halls and laboratories. University provides its students with a variety of sports and recreation facilities.
Productive studies and interesting life in any country are impossible without good command of the native language. It will help you easily accommodate and mix with the local people, enrich you with great history and culture of the country where your young years be spent. Russian will be your strong aid in accumulating knowledge and experience from your professors and tutors, doctors and other specialists whom you’ll daily encounter during classes and clinical practice.
University accepts applications from international students to MSMU from June 01 to August 26, 2010.
